Stephanie L. Stumbo

Stephanie L. Stumbo was named executive director of the Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) on March 13, 2008. She heads a staff of 100+ employees. The PSC regulates the rates and service of about 1,500 utilities providing electric, natural gas, water, sewer and telecommunication services across Kentucky.

She came to the PSC from G&H International Services Inc. She served as program director for Kentucky for the Washington, D.C.- based consulting firm, which provides strategic and policy development support and program implementation services to a variety of clients.

Before joining GHIS, Stumbo was executive director of the Kentucky Community Development Office in the Governor’s Office for Local Development, a role in which she managed the disbursement of various state grants to Kentucky communities. She also served as executive director of the Regional Kentucky Works program in a 53-county area and director of economic development for the Big Sandy Area Development District. Stumbo has extensive experience in economic/community development, strategic planning and development of leadership initiatives.
